What to perform if you have filled the wrong fuel in your car: Fuel Doctor
Irrespective of the options of misfuelling, both the happenings (petrol in a diesel car or diesel in a petrol car) can damage your engine. Let us assume the following scenarios:
Scenario-1: Diesel in a petrol car
Given the nozzle of petrol, car tanks
are more diminutive than the nozzle of a diesel dispenser, and the chances of
misfuelling are curtailed to a significant extent. However, in case a petrol
car is ended up with diesel, the odds of damage are quite minute. Petrol is
much more advanced than diesel and therefore, it is ignited by the spark
produced by spark plugs. If a petrol car is cranked with diesel in its tank,
the spark plugs and fuel system will be clogged by the diesel. The fuel filter
is one of the foremost parts to be concerned about because fuel filters in
petrol machines are not used to the smooth property of diesel. These will show
the misfiring of the engine, and heavy steam from the exhaust, and will perhaps
stall the car.
Scenario-2: Petrol in a diesel car
This is certainly an unlucky mishap
and might cause large-scale damage to the engine. As the petrol dispenser
nozzles are smaller, it evolves more comfortable to mis fuel a diesel car.
Unlike petrol cars, diesel engines squeeze the fuel to ignite, and the fuel is
pushed into the internal parts of the engine to oil them. The trouble starts
here. It is difficult to get rid of the petrol which is circulated in the
important parts of the diesel engine. The proper functioning of the power
injection pump is dependent on the lubrication property of diesel. Since petrol
cannot complete that job, the routine becomes unstable.
