Under Sink Water Filter: Some Of The Facts To Know About Buying The Same
The human body is
mostly made up of water. One can not live without water for many days. Our planet is covered with 71% of water and
the human body also can contain as much as 75% of water. Water Filter normally removes the unwanted impurities from water
such as the sediment, odor, and taste, the hardness and bacteria to result in
getting better quality water. Some of the important facts of this type of
filter will be discussed in this article.
The facts to know about
working of water filter
There are mainly 5 types of water filters available. Some of them are
discussed below:
- Mechanical filter: The basic idea of this
type of filtration is to physically remove the dirt, sediment, or any
other particles in the water using the barrier. Mechanical filters can be
anything starting from a basic mesh that filters out the large debris to a
ceramic filter, which has got an extremely complex pore structure to
filter off some pathogenic organisms.
- Absorption filters: In this type of water
filter the absorption is mostly carried out by the carbon, which is highly
effective in capturing the water-borne contaminants.
- Sequestration Filter: Here in this type
of filtration, a substance will be chemically isolated.
- Ion exchange Filter: This type of
filtration is mainly used to soften the hard water by exchanging magnesium
and calcium ions that are found in hard water with some other ions such as
sodium or hydrogen ions.
- Reverse osmosis (RO): This is the type of
process to remove the dissolved inorganic solids such as the magnesium and
calcium ions from the water by forcing it to pass through a semi selective
membrane under pressure so that the water can pass through but most
contaminants can be left behind.
